So many times I am reminded as I take couples out for photos that you really don’t have to scale the side of a mountain or be in some incredible place to get amazing and meaningful photos. The kind that make your heart happy. As I have refined my style and my approach over the years I have really accepted that – it isn’t just something that I say.
And this shoot reminded me and maybe even taught me more about my approach to couple photography. For a long time I have told people that I have a more documentary style approach and that I am not a very pose oriented photographer. I just put people in good light. Recently though, I have started to accept that sometimes I need to just back off and give people space to be themselves. So much of this shoot was just these two being in love in that space that I gave them.
