The Experience

What it’s like to work with me.

One of the most important things to me about wedding photography in general is the experience. I witnessed pretty early on in my wedding vendor career that weddings sometime felt a bit over performative. I naturally started to realize that I valued capturing authentic moments over ones that felt awkwardly staged. This page is about everything I want your wedding photography experience to be when you work with me.

What Inspires me

Human Connection.

I really have grown to value the strong connection that we have with the people that we love - especially our significant other. This is something that there is plenty of at a wedding, which is one of the reasons I love documenting them so much.

Minimalism.

I really love creating in a way that express a certain degree of minimalism. Lighter colors, fabrics, and compositions will always be timeless to me.

Cinema.

Movies inspire me - the colors, the movement, the story, the lighting. I really find myself watching movies to find inspiration for weddings and shoots that I am photographing.

What’s important to me

A commitment to who you are - to what makes you you.

These are some of the areas that have become important to my process and approach over the years.

Connection and Trust.

It’s about connection and trust - about letting go and being yourself. Think of my as your personal creative photojournalist. It’s a chill hang out session and I just happen to be taking photos. You don’t have to be experts in anything at all. I won’t leave you stranded, but I will also give you the space to focus on each other and be yourselves. You have to meet me in the middle - let the wall down so that I can document you as you are.

Honest Documentation.

This is about capturing who you are without changing it - the real shit. I am not the photographer to pose and stage your every move, have you turn your chin a lil to the right, or have you smile at my camera. I could slap you in front of an amazing overlook or beautiful sunset and take a technically good photograph, but this is about so much more than that. We create meaningful and emotional work together by staying true to who you are and focusing on it.

Chill Approach.

I have embraced a pretty relaxed and chill approach to documenting people. I don’t scream and yell affirmations the entire time we are together because I feel like I have to be saying something. I like to put on your favorite music and give you that space and slow down with my creativity during shoots.

Do you have specifc questions? Let’s get in touch!

I don’t want this to be just a check off of your list - something that you are doing because you feel like you have to or should. Photos are something that will last you a lifetime. They will be passed down for generations. We don’t have to summit a mountain top or be in Iceland to create images that make you feel something.
